Assalamualaikum semua.

Saya minta maaf sangat-sangat sebab dah lama mengabaikan blog ni. Lebih kurang 9 bulan kan?

Anyway, sedikit updates.

1)Sudah lebih kurang 9 bulan kami berpindah ke rumah baru. Sedikit demi sedikit berkemas, sebab nak buat semua sekali harung memang tak larat. sampai sekarang pun, kami belum berpuas hati sepenuhnya kerana ada lagi sedikt barang-barang yang masih belum di tempat yang sepatutnya. Lalu, di kotaklah tempatnya buat masa sekarang.

2)Ada sebabnya kenapa progress mengemas/menyusun atur rumah agak tergendala. Lebih kurang 2-3 minggu berpindah ke rumah baru, rezeki kami bertambah, Alhamdulillah. Puan rumah disahkan berbadan dua. Sebelum tahu saya mengandung, begitu aktif sekali saya mengangkat barang/kotak ke sana-sini. Lepas dah tahu, minta maaf...terpaksa lah slow down sikit. Tambahan pulak, loya-loya dan mual-mual berlaku di bulan puasa, lagi lah tak larat nak buat apa. Rancangan nak ajak cikgu-cikgu taska Amnah dan Akhtar berbuka puasa di rumah pun terpaksa dibatalkan. Maaf ye cikgu-cikgu sekalian, insyaAllah, ada rezeki di lain kali ye.

Sekarang, kandungan saya sudah mencecah 38 minggu, bila-bila masa saja saya boleh melahirkan. Sudah semakin berat perut ini, tapi saya masih bergerak aktif macam biasa, masih mengambil Amnah di sekolahnya. Akhtar pun sudah full time di rumah sejak 1 April. Lepas pantang nantilah Akhtar ke taska semula.

Sebut tentang Amnah, dia sudah pun bersekolah tadika di Seksyen 27, Shah Alam. Cuma 7-8 minit dari rumah kami. Alhamdulillah, setakat ini pencapaiannya bagus dan memberangsangkan. Cikgu-cikgunya selalu memaklumkan kepada saya tentang perkembangannya di sekolah. Harap-harap berkekalan semangat belajarnya.

Tentang kerja pula, saya telah mengembangkan(sedikit) skop kerja daripada design-design blog dan website kepada pembangunan sistem. Dulu pun kerja programmer, jadi minat kepada pembangunan sistem ni memang tak pernah padam. Customer pertama adalah sekolah tadika Amnah yang mempunyai ratusan pelajar dan sangat memerlukan computerized system untuk menyimpan semua data. Fasa pertama adalah tentang pendaftaran pelajar dan pengurusan bayaran bulanan dan tahunan. Fasa kedua, lepas pantang nanti akan disambung. Tapi yang ini nantilah saya sharekan lebih lanjut ye.

Rasanya setakat ini dulu untuk kali ini. Mintak doakan supaya saya selamat melahirkan ye.

Itu hasil kreatif Amnah main masak2 dengan Akhtar. Terlopong jugak la saya mula2 dengar Amnah bagi tau Akhtar apa yang dia tengah masak. Yang adik tu ikut je la kak long buat apa. Suruh passkan ikan la , sayur la, ntah apa2 lagi. Suka hati la..asal jangan gaduh or kacau Ummi masak sudah la.

Update 1 :

It is the second month I'm working from home. So far so good. My routine would start from after the Subuh prayer, by preparing breakfast for Hubby. Then I prepare myself and the kids before sending them to the nursery. By 9 am, i would already be in front of the computer, checking e-mails and start off with the work for the day. I, basically stop at 1.30 pm, and get ready to go and fetch my kids. Since I am working from home, they will only be at the nursery until 2 pm. Spend the afternoon with the kids + sometimes fold the laundry + prepare the dinner + bath the kids. When hubby comes home, we have the dinner at around 6.30 pm. After Maghrib prayer, we will have some times together with kids before they go to sleep at 9.30 pm or so. I would usually try to wake up at 4 am, to get some extra working times. And continue the routine for tomorrow.

Update 2 :

Our house in Seksyen 10, Putra Permai is under the renovation process, and we are due to move in by mid of July. Oh boy, another round of packing and unpacking, I can already feel the heat! Only March/April last year, we were struggling packing our things when we were leaving Norwich for good. In June, when the stuff reached our house, the unpacking process started and never end until now (there are still boxes unopened, sitting quietly upstairs). And, now, just about a year later, the cycle starts again. Luckily, this time, the distance of the two houses only 5 minutes away, so we can just load(some of) the stuff into the cars without any boxes needed.

About the renovation, the areas involved are the kitchen, the downstairs bath and some of the living room area. The workers are from Ancora Prestige Enterprise, a design and build company. We basically discussed our ideas with the designer, and after viewing the house, he came out with 3D design for the output. As an interior designer, he also advises on many aspects of the renovations and suggests most effective design according to our budget. Now, half of the work has been done, so, if everything goes fine, by end of June, it will all be completed.

I'll post the Before-and-After later as I only have the before and in progress photos with me now. Those with house renovation planned in mind, watch out this space for the photos, coz you might want to try this designer and workers.

What do you think of Car Seat Rental Scheme?

Details :

-Branded, High Quality Car Seat

-Targetting Newborn and Babies Up To 6 months Age.

-Reason :

Car Seats for newborns would only fit them at most for a year. In my case, my children only fit the seats for up until 6 months, then I have to switch to toddlers seat. So, this rental scheme will allow parents to rent car seat for babies, and when the babies turn 6 months above, they can proceed with buying toddler seats which will last at least until the kids turn 2.

Another 7 days to go. Next week, on Thursday afternoon, he'll be back to us. Hubby has been in SakuraLand for about 6 weeks now, and we are tepu already menanggung rindu. GT@lk and Video Call not enough la(being mengada-ngada sket ..he..he). Cepat balik ye !

P/s Hubby got this one technique he always apply when away from us. He'll go to bed very early at night, so the next day will come sooner and the next thing he knows, it's already the departing day. Kind of psychokan diri sendiri la nih :) Sounds familiar huh?

Minggu Belakang

Amnah memang seorang yang ceria, terus je bercakap walaupun baru buka mata bangun dari tidur. Pagi tadi, dalam perjalanan ke nurserynya, seperti biasa saya bersembang2 dengan dia. Akhtar a.k.a adik tidak ke nursery sebab demam campak, so kena kuarantin.

And the conversation went like this :

Saya : Amnah, minggu ni Akhtar tak pegi nursery tau, dia demam. Minggu depan dia sihat, baru boleh pegi ye.

Amnah : Hmm...Akhtar tak sihat kan umi, minggu depan baru boleh pegi school(panggilan kepada nurserynya). Minggu belakang Amnah jek pegi kan?

Saya :??? Minggu belakang?

Then baru saya faham, minggu belakang is the opposite of minggu depan. It's funny sometimes how the kids can come out with unexpected yet meaningful(at least to them) terms.

To Amnah, baju bangun is always the opposite of baju tidur. Kat luar dah sejuk bermakna sudah tiada sinaran matahari di halaman rumah(selalu digunakan dalam ayat2 memujuk meminta kebenaran untuk bermain di luar), as oppose of kat luar panas lagi la. Dan , sekarang minggu belakang...?

Yes..i finally did it!

I have tendered my resignation notice early of March and is due to
start working from my home office May 2, 2009. Alhamdulillah!

On business side, I am currently working on two blogs, for two other work-from-home mothers. The end-result will be revealed, InsyaAllah, by this weekend. Wait up people.

Sunday, 010209.

Meeting/discussion with Kak Rozana.
Kak Rozana is my first client, who hired me to create a custom made blog for her. Yes, you heard me right. I am now a freelance blog/website designer.Kak Rozana needs the blog for business purposes(she is selling cute smocking dresses for girls!) and I am really excited to start working on it. So, wait up and I update you on the end result soon.

BTW, I have also landed a part time job as website manager with a popular online shop(let me keep the name first), that are promoting muslim businesses. And my current task is to revamp the look and feel of the site as they are having new affiliates package coming on.

So, apart from my day job, I am now very busy with my online jobs. It is so much fun to get to do things I like but I still need to keep my day job for a while, until I am confident that my online business is strong enough and promising, InsyaAllah.

I was preparing the kids for their nursery this morning when out of sudden Kakak said,"Lambatnya nak balik". I know what she meant was "lambat lagi ke nak balik rumah".
I was like,"Hmmm?Kakak selalu cakap macam tu ke kat school?".
Then she replied,"Ha'ah".
What is that suppose to mean?
I know she is getting better and feels more comfortable now at school rather than when she was first sent there 5 months ago. Adik as well.
But I guess, there were times when she felt lonely and missing us,
her Umi and Abah perhaps, though surrounded by friends and teachers.

I hope she would be able to cope with it, my poor girl. It is just temporary, and besides, she seem to gain alot these days. The nursery has done a great job. They write, they colour, sing, read, play and they even perform solat together. That's the kind of things that I would want my kids to enjoy. Of course, the full responsibility is on us, but at least they got to learn from us when we are together and with friends and teacher when they are at school.

Hopefully Kakak and Adik will understand these. Umi and Abah loves you both very much and are working hard for the best in our lives.

This requires us to sacrifice and part from each other during the days. But, I promise, when Umi and Abah come back from work, we will play and cope up with each other like always, okay sayang? So don't be sad, just enjoy yourself and laugh a lot.

Detox, anyone?

Anybody know the best way to naturally detox ourselves?

Read about this one detoxification product. Sounds good, it comes together with success stories of celebrities who have taken it. Among them is my favourite actress V*an1d4h and also my ex-schoolmate, Ke*in Z4hr1. Hmm...no wonder they are looking more radiant and healthy. Mr Hubby might want to try this product coz he's having some allergic and has being advised to do detox in order to cleanse the blood system.

I am more interested to try it the natural way. Found this article about apple detox, where we can only eat apple whenever we feel hungry throughout the day. For dinner,hovewer, we might have some healthy,additional dishes (like steamed and broccoli carrot)to go with the apple. Sound easy and interesting, but will I make it? How soon can I start?

Now, that's quite a question.

Let's see. Tomorrow's event :
Company's family day in the morning.
Friend's daughter's birthday party in the afternoon.
Brother's birthday party in the evening.

So, tomorrow is not a good day to start the detox process.

Maybe Sunday is good. Plus, I will be at home, so sudden feeling of tiredness as a result of the procees can be covered with a nap *wink*.

On the other hand, I might also change my mind and try the above product instead. God willing, I might become as glowing and beauty as V*an1d4h :)

Work-From-Home Mother

Chatted with a WorkAtHomeMother(WAHM) friend, Maria today, and we were talking on how we can creatively multiplying our sources of income and at the same time spending money that we have in our hand wisely. For me, having multiple streams of income is a good idea, in order to survive current economic weather.

Like Maria, she is so into writing and has been contributing much of her writings to online magazines, other than her own blog . Other than that, she also does some translations and copy-writings.

Her English command is very good, so I suggested her to offer English-speaking coaching and English writing class. The potential customer could be those people who want to brush up their speaking as well as writing skills. English is widely used nowadays so it is important to be able to speak at least with proper (or right-sounded :))grammar, if not completely perfect. This whole speaking and writing thing need practices, so Maria can become your English-practice buddy.

I have always supported those who want to become a WAHM, and Maria has been sharing this idea with me since the first time we talked about this(that was 3-4 years ago). Now, she has made the move, and now a proud mother managing her family(a husband, two kids, lots of chores) and her writing jobs.

I know there are lot of other working mothers out there sharing the same dream:to stay at home, look after the family and at the same being able to earn some income. It can happen, InsyaAllah, with proper planning and lots of prayers, nothing is impossible.
